Scene after KAJANG-FLOOD

All the victims were from Kampung Sg Kantan and Jalan Kelapa. Several areas in Kajang were hit by flash floods at about 4pm!
Yesterday, I went to Kajang town with my friends, as you all know, Kajang flood a day before I went there. The scene of Kajang was massive after flood. I saw some shops closed because hit by flash floods. all of the CIMB bank ATM machine spoiled because of flood. All of the victims were cleaning their shop, they were counting how much they lose because of flood. I went into a handicraft shop, the owner of the shop were shouting " LELONG...LELONG" outside the shop, they were trying to sell out some of the things that sink in the flood with cheaper price, just a few minutes after that, it rain again...HEAVILY......the shop owner was so sad, he kept all his things quickly into his shop and said:" Hopefully, don't flood again."

HERE ARE SOME OF THE EFFECT OF FLOOD:-

Physical Effects

  • Massive damage can occur following a devastating flood. Homes, automobiles, buildings, historical monuments, graves, sewer systems, bridges and countless other infrastructures can be destroyed by nature's water pressure. Roadways often suffer, particularly ones already cracked and aging. While many buildings and homes might dry out to the point of being habitable again, the moisture remaining within walls, flooring and roofing may cause serious mold problems that will eventually wear the home away and create health dangers.

Injury, Illness and Casualties

  • Major floods pose great risk for everyone in the flooding vicinity. Particularly high flooding often claims the lives of drowning victims. If people and animals residing in the flooded area can't get to food, medications or treatments to survive, more lives can be lost. The physical damage done to buildings and cars often claims the lives of people and animals who may be trapped during the disaster. The injured may not get to a hospital. Those who can overflow hospitals. The lack of clean drinking water to flood victims can cause illness.

Financial Effects

  • Local city, county and state governments often spend large sums of money in the search, rescue, recovery and rebuilding efforts. Affected businesses are usually shut down for a long period of time. Employees and business owners alike suffer from a loss of income. Significant economic effects usually follow extremely damaging flood areas.

I hope that our government can spend more money for helping those flood victims. Let us pray together, so that our country free from those natural disasters. (**FINGER CROSS**)

Only mischievous Ko Ching-Teng claims having no interest in her, despite being her classmate since junior high school. One day, the class teacher arranges Ching-Teng to sit in front of Chia-Yi after he got caught for masturbating in class.

One English lesson, Chia-Yi has not brought her textbook to class. Pitying her, Ching-Teng slips her his and confesses the teacher to not bringing the textbook. Ching-Teng then endures a long lecture and is punished. Chia-Yi, moved by his act, prepares a practice paper for Ching-Teng in return, to encourage him to work hard in his studies. She also convinces him to stay after school to study with her. Since then, their relationship grows, and Ching-Teng's grades improve.

Upon graduation, Ching-Teng manages to enroll to the National Chiao Tung University. Yet, Chia-Yi was unwell during examinations and enters the National Taipei University of Education as a result of underperforming. Chia-Yi, depressed by the result, is consoled by Ching-Teng. Years later, in 2004, Chia-Yi calls Ching-Teng to tell him that she is getting married. All of her old friends gather at the wedding, joking about trying to embarrass the groom. Happy Deepavali

Malaysia is a melting pot of different races and cultures. Each race has its own festival and Deepavali is one of the most significant celebrations of the Hindu community. The festival falls on Ashvina Krishna Chaturdasi (the lunar day before the new moon). The exact date is calculated based on the last 90 minutes before sunrise (Arunodaya). Deepavali involves bathing before sunrise. This year, Deepavali in fall at 26th of October.
Unfortunely, We just had 1 day holiday at 26th of October and made me can't go visit my indian friends open house.

From what I found out that Deepavali is also known as Diwali, or the Festival of Lights. Light is significant in Hinduism because it signifies goodness. So, during the Festival of Lights, 'deeps', or oil lamps, are burned throughout the day and into the night to ward off darkness and evil. Especially for this event people are cleaning their houses and wear new clothes. Diwali is a 5 day festival as Dhanteras, Choti Diwali, Badi (Main) Diwali, Padwa and Bhaiduj. There are many different names for the days of Diwali in different regions of India (South & North India, East & West India) and in the different languages spoken in that regions (i.e. Hindi, Urdu, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali). During Deepavali people pray to Lakshmi, Goddess of wealth, light, prosperity and wisdom, but also to Ganesha, the 'Remover of Obstacles' and the 'Lord of Beginnings'.

The below are the difference between Deepavali and Diwali:

What's the difference between
Deepavali vs. Diwali ?
DEEPAVALIDIWALI
OriginDeepavali is the ORIGINAL NAME from Sanskrit Dīpāvalī (दीपावली) meaning "Row of Lamps" or "Spreading of Light".
Contraction of the word "Deepavali". Could have emerged to simplify pronunciation especially under the British rule (1757-1947).
Regional SignificanceCelebrated in South-India in the states:

Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Andhra Pradesh

Countries and Regions with a significant population of Indians from the southern Indian states (Tamils) such as:

Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka/Ceylon, Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Mauritius, Réunion, Martinique & Guadeloupe
Celebrated in North-India in the states:

Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura

Countries with a significant Indian population mainly from North-India such as:

USA, Canada, United Kingdom and others (see below)
Date CalculationFalls on Ashvina Krishna Chaturdasi (the lunar day before the new moon). The exact date is calculated based on the last 90 minutes before sunrise (Arunodaya). Deepavali involves bathing before sunrise.

Geographic location: Chennai (Tamil Nadu)
Falls on the following lunar day on Ashvina Amavasya (lunar day of new moon). The date is calculated based on extended Pradosha (a few hours after sunset). Observed by displaying diyas, lanterns and firecrackers.

Geographic location: Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh)
The 2 holidays are defined to occur on 2 separate lunar days. In the Gregorian (Western) Calendar, Deepavali & Diwali can fall on the same calendar day when both periods (see above) of about 16 hours in total happen to be within the 24 hours of a single civil/Gregorian day. This means that the date will fall in about 2/3 of cases (years) on the same Gregorian day.
(Many thanks to Olivier Beltrami for his expert advice on this !)
Festival Days
&
Spiritual Differences
Deepavali is a 4 day festival

Day 1: Deepavali (Naraka Chaturdasi)
Commemorates the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon Naraka. People taking a bath in the early morning before sunrise while the stars are still shining in the sky.

Day 2: Lakshmi Puja
Goddess Lakshmi emerged from Kshira Sagara (Ocean of Milk). Lakshmi Pooja is performed on this day.

Day 3: Kartika Shuddha Padwa/Bali Padyami
Celebrates the victory of god Vishnu in his dwarf incarnation Vamana over the daemon king Bali. Honours Bali's return to earth for his devotion to the Lord and for his noble deeds to his people. First day of the Hindu month Kartika.

Day 4: Yama Dvitiya
Yama (God of Death) had a feast with his sister Yami. She put an auspicious tilak mark on his forehead for his well-being. On this day sisters pray for well-being of their brothers. In return brothers giving gifts to their sisters.

Diwali is a 5 day festival

Day 1: Dhanteras
Commemorates the birth of Dhanvantari (the physician of the Gods). Dhan translates to wealth. Goddess Lakshmi is being worshiped for prosperity and well-being. Many Indian businesses start their accounting year on this day.

Day 2: Choti Diwali (Kali Chaudas)
Also known as Small Diwali. Daemon Narakasura was killed by Krishna. Poojas for Lakshmi and Rama.

Day 3: Diwali & Lakshmi Puja
Commemorates the return of Lord Rama (King of Ayodhya) to his hometown from 14 years of exile in the forest, after defeating the evil daemon king Ravana of Lanka. Goddess Lakshmi emerged from Kshira Sagara (Ocean of Milk). Lakshmi Pooja is performed on this day.

Day 4: Govardhan Puja (Annakoot)
Celebrates the victory of Krishna over Indra, the deity of thunder and rain, by lifting Govardhana Hill with his little finger to save people from the floods. This day is also known as Annakoot (mountain of food).

Day 5: Bhai Dhooj
Sisters pray for well-being of their brothers and put a mark on their foreheads. Brothers give gifts to their sisters in return.

At last, although we celebrate different festival but what I can conclude that is every single festival we celebrate is a time for family members to come together and it's also a time for the community to hold open houses and invite their friends and neighbours over.

Happy Deepavali to my Hindu's friends.

Stress Is Not The Enemy

Stress Is NOT The Enemy!

Stress is a part of every student's life. As students, the greatest sources of stress are our studies, environment and lifestyle. A little stress is good for us, especially when we need the push to work harder. However, if we allow stress to get out of hand, it can be detrimental to our health. Stress can be express itself in the form of negative feelings, thoughts and behaviour. When we are under stress, we may experience anxiety, fear, self-criticism, difficulty in concentrating and other symptoms. Since mid-term examination is approaching, I would like to share some tips how to reduce stress during preparing mid-term exam.

1. Identify stressors. This is the most important step of all, as identifying the things that stress you out in your life is the first step towards eliminating them. Take 10 minutes to think about what stresses you out during the day. What weekly occurrences stress you out? What people, activities, things cause stress in your life? Make a Top 10 list, and see which of them can be eliminated, and start to weed them out. For those that can't, find ways to make them less stressful.

2.Time management. We should make a list of tasks that should be done and we should schedule time for plan. Give priority to the most important tasks and do them first. The important thing is to set realistic goals. Do not overwork! Too much studying at any single time can cause unnecessary stress.

3.Exercise regularly. When you take long time in studying and you will feel stressful and make yourself feel nervous. Go do some exercise so that can refresh your mind and it's one way to reduce your stress too! In another words, exercise gives you some quiet time to contemplate and relax, and just as importantly, it makes you more fit.

4. Bed on time. Being lack of sleep always stresses us out. Things always seem better after a good rest. We need enough sleep to make sure our mind won't feel tired and it will make us to perform well.average sleep needs:

5. Relax routinely. It's important to take mini-breaks during your work day. Stop what you're doing, massage your shoulders and neck and head and hands and arms, get up and stretch, walk around, drink some water. Go outside and appreciate the fresh air and the beautiful sky. Talk to someone you like. Life doesn't have to be all about productivity. You should also avoid using online activity too much as your de-stressing activity - get away from the computer to relax.

6. Be grateful. This might not be as obvious as some of the others, but developing an attitude of gratitude is a way of thinking positive, eliminating negative thinking from your life, and thereby reducing stress. Learn to be grateful for what you have, for the people in your life, and see it as a gift. With this sort of outlook on life, stress will go down and happiness will go up. That's a winning formula.

If you feel that you are unable to cope stress, seek help. Try to talk out to your family, counsellor or friends. Avoid self-medication or escape.
when you feel that your stress level is getting out of hand, take some time off. Engage in some relaxing activity like listen song, dancing and so on.

Hope these tips can help my friends to cope their stress during exam and their daily life.
sharing is caring~

RECIPE OF MUFFINS~yum yum~

This is the recipe that I found on a website~ I love baking~ so I always search for online recipe(because those baking books are expensive =P). And this is one of the recipe that I want to share with my friends~because I successfully baked yummy muffins with this recipe!!! And it's very easy!!!

Step 1: Prepared this ingredient

250 g flour
150 g sugar(or less,because I feel that it's too sweet for me, so I cut it to about 120 g)
6 g baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg
200 ml milk
110 g butter, melted(melt it before u start)
1 tsp vanilla essence
15 muffin cups(or more)
bowls & spoons

Oven Temperature:
190° c

Step 2: Prepare the oven

Preheat the oven to 190°C

Step 3: Mix the dry ingredients

Put the flour, sugar, baking powder and the salt into a bowl and mix them together well.

Step 4: Mix the other ingredients

Take a separate bowl and pour in the milk. Add the melted butter, vanilla essence and then break in the egg. Stir together thoroughly.

Step 5: Combine all the ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and briefly stir them together. Don't over mix it as you want to keep the batter fluffy.
(*TIP: u can add in some chocolate chips or jam~ I tried both but I prefer add in a teaspoon of blueberry jam~it's yummy~)

Step 6: Pour into the muffin cups

Arrange the cups on a baking tray and then add about half muffin's cup of the muffin mixture to each one. Don't fill them completely as they will rise.

(* If you use aluminium cups, then just before adding the mixture you'll have to brush them with butter)
http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Step 7: Bake IT!!!

Place the baking tray in the centre of the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 8: Test, remove and serve

When you see that the muffins have risen and turned golden brown in colour, insert a toothpick to check they are done, if it's clean when you take it out then they're ready to remove.

It's ready for you to bite it!!!

K-pop

It's a new generation! I don't understand why people are so get into the k-pop, until my best friends got me into it! I feel that I'm addicted to Korean pop song(K-pop). The 1st song that my friends introduce to me is "Anymotion" from Lee Hyori. It's awesome. Then we learn the dance steps inside the MV. Although i dont't understand their language but the beat of the music make me LOVE it~ (nod nod head and shake shake body)
After that, I continue my "journey" of k-pop. The 2nd dance I learn is "NOBODY" from wonder girls. The dance steps is easier than the 1st 1. And it's the 2nd k-pop dance that I perform on stage. I love it!
Then we learn "Gee"(girl's generation). It's a very cute song.
K-pop is so catching and full of suprise. Currently the k-pop songs that I like is BUBBLE POP, CHANGE, GOODBYE BABY, MIRROR MIRROR and a lots!Hyuna is pretty sexy! YEAH YEAH YEAH! LET'S ROCK IT BABY! TOGETHER! SARANGHAEYO K-POP">
